The Public Power Corporation (PPC), an incumbent energy utility in Greece, has offered the lowest bid of Euro 0.054 per kWh for a solar park. This is the lowest offer among the solar PV and wind tenders floated recently. The 15 MW project will be built at the Kardia lignite mine in Kozani, northern Greece. Apart from the PPC’s plant, 27 projects aggregating 105.09 MW have been awarded with a capacity of up to 20 MW each. Italy’s Enel Green Power offered the second-lowest bid of Euro 0.0586 for a 6.5 MW plant in Veroia, northern Greece. Other winners included local Greek companies Spes Solaris-Solar Concept, which won contracts for about 50 MW of capacity, and Egnatia Energy, which won two contracts for projects of about 1 MW each.
