EESL to procure 100 MW of solar modules for project in Maharashtra

The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has issued a tender to procure 100 MW of solar PV modules (of capacity 325W and above) for the state of Maharashtra. The project is for the solarisation of agriculture feeders under the Maharashtra government’s Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana. The EESL will supply the solar modules to the system integrators who will set up the solar PV projects and provide operations and maintenance services for a period of 25 years. According to the tender guidelines, the prospective bidders must submit an amount of Rs 3.3 million as the earnest money deposit. The last date for the submission of bids is December 27, 2019.

In October 2019, The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), have announced a new joint venture called Intellismart Infrastructure Private Limited (IntelliSmart). This joint venture has been formed to implement, finance and operate the smart meter roll-out programme of power distribution companies. EESL has already secured contracts for IntelliSmart to install and maintain over 10 million smart meters across various state distribution companies. The joint venture will work alongside EESL to scale this up further. IntelliSmart will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to procure, deploy and provide operations and maintenance for the smart meter infrastructure.
