The Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited (APSPCL) has issued operations and maintenance (O&M) tenders for 1.5 GW of solar projects at Ananthapuramu and 1 GW of projects at Kurnool ultra-mega solar park. The work involves the O&M of pooling substations and associated DC lines, including 33 kV lines and water supply programs at N.P. Kunta and Galiveedu sites of the Ananthapuramu and Kurnool solar parks, respectively. The estimated contract value of the tender is Rs 57.9 million. The last date for the submission of bids for both the tenders is December 16, 2019.
Recently, the government of Andhra Pradesh issued a notification amending the state’s policy for wind, solar and wind-solar hybrid projects, taking away some incentives from the renewable generators. The amendments have changed or cancelled many existing provisions in these policies that deal with transmission charges, energy banking, and tariff determination.
As per the latest amendment, transmission and distribution charges for inter and intra-state wheeling of power will be determined by the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. The facility of energy banking and drawing of power given to generators will be withdrawn for these projects. Further, the tariffs for renewable energy projects will not exceed the difference between pooled variable cost and balancing cost and procurement of government land for the projects can only be done on a lease-hold basis.
