SECI’s 1.2 GW solar tender receives bids from four developers

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has received bids from ReNew Power, UPC Renewables, Tata Power, and Avaada Energy.  All of the companies submitted bids to develop 300 MW of solar capacity each. With this, SECI’s 1,200 MW tender for setting up ISTS-connected solar projects across the country is fully subscribed. The projects, once awarded will be developed on a build-own-operate basis and the successful bidders will enter into power purchase agreements with SECI for 25 years. According to the tender guidelines, the procurement of land, connectivity, and long-term open access approval is within the scope of the project developer. The tariff for this tender had been initially capped at Rs 2.65 per kWh which was later amended to Rs 2.68 per kWh.
