NTPC Limited was awarded a capacity of 769.4 MW out of 922.4 MW in SECI’s tender for setting up 2,000 MW of grid-connected solar projects (Tranche-I) under the second phase of the Central Public Sector Undertaking scheme. The projects have been allocated through the viability gap funding (VGF) route. The remaining capacity has been awarded to NHDC Limited (25 MW), Singareni Collieries company Limited (90 MW), Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (30 MW), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (3 MW), Nalanda University (5 MW. The projects will be developed on build-own-operate basis.
