NTPC Limited has invited bids for 1,200 MW of inter-state transmission system connected wind energy projects to be set up across India. According to the tender document, the size of the wind projects should range between 50 MW and 600 MW. NTPC Limited will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the developer at a tariff of Rs 2.85 per kWh for a period of 25 years. The projects are to be commissioned within 18 months from the signing date of the PPA. The successful bidders will be responsible for arranging the land and transmission for the project. The earnest money deposit for bids to be submitted has been set at Rs 600,000 per MW.
