MSEDCL issues tender to procure 500 MW of solar power

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has issued a tender to procure 500 MW of solar power. MSEDCL will sign power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 25 years with the winning bidders after conducting a reverse e-auction. The tariff ceiling has been set at Rs 2.80 per kWh. With this tender MSEDCL is looking to achieve its renewable purchase obligation and meet its future power demand.

The earnest money deposit has been set at Rs 500,000 per MW. The projects are to be commissioned within 15 months from the date of signing of the PPA for projects set up in solar parks, and within 18 months from the date of execution of the PPA for projects being set up outside of solar parks.
