Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has further extended the request for selection bid due date from August 30, 2019 to November 29, 2019 for three packages (Packages A-C) of the 7,500 MW solar PV projects (Phase I) to be set up in Leh and Kargil. The bids for the same were invited in December 2018. The packages are as follows:
- Package A: It comprises of a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Kargil district.
- Package B: It consists of a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Block-1 in Leh district.
- Package C: It consists of a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Block-2 in Leh district.
The project is being implemented as Phase I of the scheme for development of a total of 23 GW grid-connected ultra mega solar PV projects in the Leh and Ladakh regions of Jammu and Kashmir on build, own and operate (BOO) basis. It also includes implementation of the power transmission and evacuation infrastructure up to the delivery point.
