Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has extended the bid due date for implementation of the 1,800 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects (Tranche VIII) from July 26, 2019 to August 9, 2019. The bids were invited in June 2019.
SECI will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders selected for a period of 25 years from the date as per the provisions of PPA. The wind power developer must bid for a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum capacity of 600 MW with each project size being in between 50 MW and 300 MW. The developer will set up wind power projects including the transmission network up to the delivery point.
The project involves development of 1,800 MW ISTS-connected wind power plants across the country on build, own and operate basis. SECI has been designated as trader for purchase and sale of wind power from the projects. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months.
