NTPC, Sukhbir Agro win bids for 72 MW grid-connected solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh

NTPC Limited and Sukhbir Agro Energy Limited have won bids for the development of 72 MW of solar projects under the 500 MW grid-connected solar PV power projects to be developed in Uttar Pradesh. NTPC Limited has won the bids to develop 20 MW of capacity each at Auraiya and Rihand by quoting the lowest tariff of Rs 3.02 per kWh. Sukhbir Agro Energy had bid for 50 MW of capacity at a tariff of Rs 3.05 per kW, but has been allocated only 32 MW of capacity. The project involves the development of 500 MW of solar power plants in the state of Uttar Pradesh on a BOO basis. UPNEDA invited bids on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), which will sign a PPA with the successful bidder for a period of 25 years.
