Four companies have won bids for the development of the 750 MW grid-connected solar PV power project (Tranche II) in Rajasthan. These include NTPC Limited (160 MW), Mahindra Susten (200 MW), Hero Future Energies (250 MW) and Azure Power Limited (70 MW). NTPC Limited, Mahindra Susten and Hero Future Energies have won the bids for developing 160 MW, 200 MW and 250 MW capacities respectively, by quoting Rs 2.50 per kWh. Besides, Azure Power Limited had submitted bids to develop 100 MW of capacity. However, it has won the bids to develop 70 MW of capacity by quoting a tariff of Rs 2.50 per kWh. The bids for the projects were invited in March 2019, and in response, bids totalling 1,100 MW of capacity were submitted. However, only 850 MW of techno-commercial bids were qualified for the final round of the bidding process and now only 680 MW of solar capacity will be awarded.
