Shivamogga Smart City Limited (SSCL) has invited request for proposal bids for development of 25 MW solar power plants in Shivamogga city in Karnataka on July 17, 2019. The last date for submission of bids is August 19, 2019.
The scope of work includes survey, investigation, planning, design, engineering of the projects along with procurement, supply, erection, testing, installation, commissioning and comprehensive operations and maintenance. SSCL along with Karnataka Niravari Nigama Limited intends to use the irrigation canal networks passing through the city for implementation of the project. It is expected to be completed in 18 months.
The project involves development of 25 MW of solar power project on canal top of upper or lower Tunga canal on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis under public-private partnership model. A power purchase agreement will be signed between the solar power developer and Mangalore Electricity Supply Company for a period of 25 years.
