GE Renewable Energy decides to open a new offshore wind factory in China

GE Renewable Energy has decided to open a new offshore wind factory and an operations and management (O&M) centre in Guangdong province, China, to take advantage of the offshore wind growth in the region. The new facility will be set up in the dedicated offshore wind industrial park in the city of Jieyang. The Jieyang factory will solely serve offshore wind projects in the region, while the assembly site in Saint-Nazaire, France, will continue to support all other international markets. The construction of the factory will begin at the end of 2019 and is likely to be completed in 2021. Assembly production is slated to begin in the second half of 2021. Meanwhile, GE will also set up a new O&M centre in Guangzhou to carry out research and development activities, while also serving as the regional sales and project management office for the company’s offshore wind business.
