The Punjab Energy Development Agency has extended the bid due date for setting up a 54 MW biomass-solar hybrid power project under the power bundling mechanism in the state from July 23, 2019 to August 23, 2019.
The bids for the tender were invited in June 2019. The 54 MW capacity has been divided into 48 MW and 6 MW for solar and biomass plants respectively.
The solar power project of 48 MW can be installed in multiples of 12 MW each at not more than four locations. However, biomass power project of 6 MW capacity can be developed at a single location.
Punjab State Power Corporation Limited will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the developers for supply of power for a period of 25 years from the date of commissioning.
The project involves development of a 54 MW biomass-solar hybrid power plant in Gujarat on build, own and operate basis. It is expected to commission in 24 months from the date of signing of PPA.
