Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL) has extended the bid due date for development of 140 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects from July 23, 2019 to August 27, 2019.
The project involves setting up of three ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects for supply of power of 55 MW capacity (14 MW solar + 41 MW wind) in Gujarat for Western Railways, 15 MW capacity (3 MW solar + 12 MW wind) in Karnataka for South Western Railways and 70 MW capacity (18 MW solar + 52 MW wind) in Madhya Pradesh for West Central Railways, on build, own and operate basis.
The Zonal Railways will sign the power purchase agreements with the project developers for purchase of power for a period of 25 years. The project is expected to complete in 18 months.
