Vestas signs a contract with EDF Renewables for 35 MW wind farm in South Africa

Vestas has signed a contract with EDF Renewables to provide engineering and procurement and construction to the latter’s 35 MW Wesley wind farm in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The turnkey contract entails the supply, installation and commissioning of 10 V126-3.45MW turbines along with civil and electrical works. The project is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2020, while deliveries are expected to begin in the first half. Vestas will service the turbines under a 15-year contract and deploy its VestasOnline Business supervisory control and data acquisition solution to assist in operational management.
