Northern Railways floats tender for 4.7 MW of solar rooftop installations across stations

Under the Indian Railway Solar Mission, the Northern Railways has invited developers to set up 4.7 MW of rooftop installations comprising 133 installations of 10 kW each and 677 installations of 5 kW each. The solar rooftop systems are to be installed on D and E category railway stations. The project is expected to be completed over a period of nine months, with an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.46 million. Valued at Rs 262.4 million, the tender includes solar PV modules, grid-interactive power conditioning, mounting structures, junction boxes, earthing and lightning safety measures, IR/UV protected PVC cables, all accessories, bi-directional electronic meters (of 0.5 S Class), and reverse power relay, which is to be provided by the bidder unless given by the discom. Bids were invited on May 23, 2019, and the last date for bid submission was June 6, 2019.
