Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has issued an RfS, calling for the purchase of power on a long-term basis from 1,000 MW of grid-connected solar projects (Phase III). The ceiling tariff has been set at Rs 2.80 per kWh. The last date for bid submission is July 9, 2019 and a pre-bid meeting is expected on June 19, 2019. Bidders will need to deposit an earnest money deposit of Rs 5 million to participate in the tender. In order to meet its RPO as well as future power needs, MSEDCL will purchase the solar power from these projects under a 25-year PPA. For inter-state projects, the minimum capacity has been fixed at 50 MW. All related transmission charges and losses will be borne by selected bidders.
