Huawei has announced the launch of its latest utility-scale 1,500 V smart string inverter, SUN2000-185KTL-INH0 (SUN2000-185KTL), for the Indian solar market. The new product has an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm, which helps achieve optimum integration of tracker control, power supply and communication. AI auto-learning enables trackers to better align the bifacial PV modules by optimising the tracking algorithm, which helps in increasing the energy yield. The product complies with the latest Central Electricity Authority guidelines and is International Electrotechnical Commission certified.
SUN2000-185KTL has nine maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) for versatile applications as per different layouts and for fast string-level troubleshooting. Multi-MPPTs reduce the mismatch impact caused by shading and dust. As per the company, SUN2000-185KTL has a maximum efficiency of 99.03 per cent, which ensures high power generation. The product uses Huawei’s patented multi-peak algorithm that reportedly tracks the highest power peak in 200 milliseconds. As per the company, its Smart I-V Curve Diagnosis can proactively discover low performance strings and help in active preventive maintenance. In addition, its no-fuse design is said to reduce the fire risk caused by DC side malfunction. This can help in reducing operations and maintenance (O&M) costs. On comparing its FusionSolar Smart PV Solution with SUN2000-185KTL, the latter is said to increase energy yields by over 3 per cent and O&M efficiency by over 50 per cent.
