The Water Resources Department of Maharashtra has invited expression of interest for the execution of balance work of a 15 MW and a 10 MW small hydroelectric project in the state on June 6, 2019. The last date for bid submission is July 6, 2019. About 80 per cent of the construction work has been completed on these projects. The 15 MW project will be set up near Konzer village of Mahad taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The estimated project cost is Rs 851 million. The 10 MW project is being developed near Karmar village of the same taluka Maharashtra. The estimated project cost is Rs 707 million. The state government has been developing the two projects through its own funds. The remaining work will now be implemented on a build, own and transfer basis for a period of 30 years. The projects are expected to be completed within 24 months.
