Canadian government launches Climate Action Incentive Fund

The Government of Canada has launched a new C$150 million incentive programme, the Climate Action Incentive Fund, to fight climate change. The programme is designed to support small- and medium-sized enterprises in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and New Brunswick, all of which have established provincial-level schemes to put a price on pollution. Businesses that plan to build renewable energy projects are eligible to receive assistance for up to 25 per cent of project-related costs, with funding ranging from C$20,000 to C$250,000. The eligible projects may include clean transport initiatives, and renewable energy plants.
