Two companies submit bids for 500 MW grid-connected solar power project in Uttar Pradesh

A total of two companies have submitted bids for development of the 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh. These include NTPC Limited (2X20 MW) and Sukhbir Agro Energy Limited (50 MW). Of this, only 72 MW will be developed as per the rules of the bid document.

With this, the tender issued by Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) on January 14, 2019 has been undersubscribed with an aggregate capacity of 410 MW.

The project involves development of 500 MW solar power plants in the state of Uttar Pradesh on build, own and operate basis. UPNEDA invited bids on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). UPPCL will sign the power purchase agreement with the successful bidder for a period of 25 years.
