RfS bid due date extended for three packages of 7,500 MW solar PV projects in Jammu and Kashmir

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has further extended the Request for Selection bid due date for three packages (Packages A-C) of the 7,500 MW solar PV projects (Phase I) to be set up in Leh and Kargil districts of Jammu and Kashmir from May 31, 2019 to August 30, 2019. The bids were invited in December 2018. The packages are as follows:

  • Package A: It comprises a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Kargil district.
  • Package B: It comprises a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Block-1 in Leh district.
  • Package C: It comprises a single project of 2,500 MW capacity to be set up in Block-2 in Leh district.

According to tender guidelines, SECI will be the implementing agency of these projects and will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidder for a period of 35 years from the scheduled commissioning date.

Also, the solar power developers must bid for a minimum capacity of 2,500 MW and a maximum capacity of 5,000 MW. Furthermore, the developers must achieve financial closure within 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.

The project is being implemented as Phase I of the scheme for development of a total of 23 GW of grid-connected ultra mega solar PV projects in the Leh and Ladakh regions of Jammu and Kashmir on build, own and operate basis. It also includes implementation of the power transmission and evacuation infrastructure up to the delivery point.
