SECI has extended the Request for Selection bid due date for selection of solar power developers for the 500 MW grid-connected solar PV power project in Tamil Nadu Phase-I from May 27, 2019 to June 27, 2019. The bids were invited in April 2019.
SECI will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders selected for a period of 25 years from the date as per the provisions of PPA. The developer must bid for a minimum capacity of 10 MW and a maximum capacity of 500 MW. The capacity of the plant applied should be in multiples of 10 MW only. For this tender, SECI has set the upper ceiling tariff at Rs 2.85/kWh.
The project involves development of solar power plant of 500 MW capacity anywhere in the state of Tamil Nadu on build, own and operate (BOO) basis. The power procured by SECI from the project will be sold to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited.
