RfP bid due date extended for 25 MW Matchil-Kalaroos small hydro electric project

Jammu & Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDCL) has further extended the Request for Proposal bid due date for selection of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for development of the 25 MW Matchil-Kalaroos small hydro electric project from May 9, 2019 to June 12, 2019. The bids were invited in September 2018. The scope of work includes planning, design, construction and operations and maintenance of the project.

The project involves development of 3 x 8.34 MW hydro electric power plant at Dudhi village in Kupwara in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Keeping in view the vast hydro potential of 20,000 MW in the state of which projects of 16,475 MW capacity on rivers- Chenab (11,283 MW), Jhelum (3,084), Ravi (500MW), and Indus (1608) already been identified, the state government is now stressing to execute projects with efficiency to achieve desired objectives of all round development of the hydro power sector in the state.
