The government has allocated funds worth Rs 52.54 billion to MNRE in the Union Budget 2019-20. The total outlay for the central sector schemes under the budget is Rs 51.31 billion. The central government has made a provision of Rs 24.79 billion for the solar energy segment, Rs 7.2 billion for wind, Rs 1.82 billion for small hydro and Rs 250 million for bioenergy segments for grid-connected projects. Funds worth Rs 5.25 billion, Rs 80 million and Rs 500 million for solar, small hydro and bioenergy segments have been earmarked for decentralised projects.
