Brazil miner Vale gets approval to buy 3 wind farms

Iron ore miner Vale SA has won approval from Brazil’s antitrust regulator to buy three wind farms located in the northeast of the country from investment fund Salus. Salus is controlled by the Mario Araripe Group, which owns wind farm developer Casa dos Ventos. Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense has, however, not disclosed the price of the acquisition. The acquisition is in line with Vale’s objective of meeting its energy demand through renewables.
