Six companies win bids for 1,200 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects

A total of six companies have won the bids for the development of 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects (Tranche VI). These are: Ostro Energy Private Limited, Adani Renewable, Srijan Energy Systems Private Limited (Continuum Wind Energy), Powerica Limited, Ecoren Energy India and SB Energy (SoftBank).

Of these companies, Ostro Energy, Adani, Srijan Energy and Powerica have won bids for developing 300 MW, 250 MW, 150 MW and 50.6 MW of capacity respectively by quoting Rs 2.82 per kWh. Besides, Ecoren and SB Energy have won the bids for developing 125 MW and 324.4 MW of capacity respectively by quoting Rs 2.83 per kWh. The bids were invited by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in December 2018.

The project involves development of 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected wind power plants across the country on build, own and operate basis. The SECI has been designated as trader for purchase and sale of wind power from the projects.
