SMA introduces SMA Smart Connected solution

SMA’s Sunny Tripower CORE1 solution will now be offered with a proactive operations and maintenance (O&M) solution called SMA Smart Connected. This O&M solution, powered by ennexOS, can help developers save service costs throughout the system lifetime. Sunny Tripower CORE1 is now available at 33.3 kW, 50 kW and 62.5 kW power ratings with smart inverter capabilities. The new models of the CORE1 have expanded power classes and enhanced safety features.

The new CORE1 inverters provide integrated support for the new SunSpec powerline communication signal. This communications interoperability specification has been developed by SunSpec, which is a consortium of industry stakeholders, for module-level rapid shutdown. The new Sunny Tripower CORE1, combined with the exclusive TS4-R-F module-level retrofit shutdown devices, provides a reliable and cost-effective solution for module-level rapid shutdown. These inverters are also equipped with SMA’s next-generation DC AFCI technology and have PV arc-fault protection. Hence, these inverters can detect and interrupt faults that occur in real-world PV array wiring before they become a fire hazard.

This versatile system is ideal for commercial solar installations as it promises safe, reliable and cost-effective power production. SMA Smart Connected O&M solution allows continuous inverter monitoring, enabling shipping of replacement parts or inverters even before a system owner notices an interruption or drop in energy production. This increases the productivity of owners as well as installers.
