The REC Group has launched two new products that use the p-type monocrystalline passivated emitter rear cell (PERC) cells. These are the 60-cell TwinPeak 2 Mono rated up to 320 Wp and the 72-cell TwinPeak 2S Mono 72 rated up to 380 Wp. The REC TwinPeak 2 Mono is ideal for residential and small commercial rooftop solar installations, which are required to generate a large quantum of power in a limited space. The larger REC TwinPeak 2S Mono 72 is suitable for large commercial and utility installations, as it offers a lower balance of system cost. The latter, though larger in size, is quite lightweight weighing only 50 pounds, owing to the robust construction and REC’s unique frame structure.
These high efficiency products based on half-cut cell technology offer increased power output per square metre and improved performance in shaded conditions. The TwinPeak 2S Mono 72 module is available in the 1,500 V range. With these new monocrystalline products, the company has extended the warranty duration from 10 years to 20 years. In addition, it promises only 0.5 per cent annual degradation over a 25-year power warranty for the 72-cell panel and 0.7 per cent degradation for the 60-cell version. It also promises to be 100 per cent free from potential-induced degradation. These new products are manufactured at REC’s production site in Singapore.
