SECI extends deadline to achieve financial closure for 2,000 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended the deadline for achieving financial closure for development of the 2,000 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects (Tranche IV) till March 2019. Earlier, the deadline for the same was January 3, 2019. The implementation of the projects has been delayed due to land acquisition issues as Gujarat government is reluctant to allot land for projects sanctioned by the Union Government.

In April 2018, seven companies had won the bids for development of the project. These included: Srijan Energy Systems Private Limited (250 MW), Sprng Energy Private Limited (300 MW), BLP Energy Private Limited (285 MW), Betam Wind Energy Private Limited (200 MW), Inox Wind Infrastructure Services Limited (100 MW), Adani Green Energy (MP) Limited (300 MW), Mytrah Energy (India) Private Limited (300 MW) and Renew Wind Energy (TN) Private Limited (265 MW).
