SECI, SDMC sign MoU for developing 27.5 MW solar power plants in Delhi and Haryana

SECI and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for development of 27.5 MW of solar power plants in Delhi and Haryana.

Of the total 27.5 MW capacity, 25 MW will be developed at Ghuman Hera near Najafgarh in Delhi on about 105 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 1.45 billion and another 2.5 MW solar power plant will be developed at Ferozpur in Faridabad city of Haryana on about 9.45 acres of land owned by the SDMC at an estimated cost of Rs 200 million.

The construction work on these projects is likely to commence in April 2019 and is expected to be completed by October 2020. The funds for the projects will be generated through public bonds, and the process for the same has been initiated.
