Gasum to expand biogas plant in Turku

Finnish state-owned gas firm Gasum plans to expand the capacity of its biogas plant in the city of Turku, making it the second largest such facility in Finland. The plant can process about 75,000 tonnes of organic waste. Post the capacity expansion, it will be able to process over 110,000 tonnes of organic waste and produce approximately 60 GWh of biogas annually. The expansion, which will cost about 30 million euros, will be completed by September 2019.
