The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) accorded approval for signing of power sale agreements (PSAs) for the development of grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects of capacity 302 MW capacity under the Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme.
The Request for Selection (RfS) bids for the projects were issued on April 27, 2018. Following this, a total of four companies won bids for the development of these projects. These include Azure Power (150 MW), Waaneep Solar Power (50 MW), Sri Sri Shetkari Urja Nirmiti Cooperative Society (2 MW) and Karnataka Resco Rooftop Solar Company (100 MW).
In March 2018, the Maharashtra government appointed MSEDCL as the implementing agency for Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme which aims to provide power during the day to agricultural consumers.
