The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects of capacity 235 MW to be developed under the Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme.
The Request for Selection (RfS) bids for the projects were issued on April 27, 2018. Following this, five companies submitted bids for a total of 285 MW capacity. These included Kintech Synergy (5 MW), Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Capital Company (100 MW), TPSOL RESCO THREE (50 MW), Kalthia Engineering and Construction Limited (10 MW) and AT Capital Advisory India Private Limited (120 MW).
After the financial evaluation, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) found the tariffs quoted by the companies to be high and it was decided to negotiate with the bidders to lower their rates. Subsequently, bidders submitted revised tariff rates and the contract for a total of 235 MW capacity has now been awarded to four companies. These include Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Capital Company (8X10 MW), TPSOL RESCO THREE (5X10 MW), Kintech Synergy (1X5 MW) and AT Capital Advisory India (10X10 MW).
In March 2018, the Maharashtra government appointed MSEDCL as the implementing agency for Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme which aims to provide power during the day to agricultural consumers.
