Senvion has won the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Alfanar for the development of a 300 MW wind project in Bhuj, Gujarat. The scope of work involves supply and installation of 131 Senvion 2.3M130 turbines. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years.
The project is being developed by Alfanar. The same was awarded to the company by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) under the 1,200 MW ISTS Connected Wind Power Project (Tranche V). It is expected to be commission by July 2020. When connected to grid, this project will generate enough clean power to supply the power needs of almost 290,000 households.
In 2018, Senvion India has built up a total turbine order book of more than 1 GW.
