SECI’s 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar-wind hybrid tender has been undersubscribed by 150 MW. Adani Group and SoftBank Energy submitted technical bids for the development of 600 MW and 450 MW of hybrid projects respectively.
Players such as ReNew Power, Sembcorp Energy India Limited, ACME and Hero Future Energies stayed away due to low tariffs. Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) had floated the tender in May 2018, seeking bids for 2,500 MW hybrid projects, but the size of the tender had since been scaled down to 1,200 MW.
