Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) extended the bid due date for selection of developer to set up a 100 MW solar project at Chandrapur, in the state of Maharashtra from October 19, 2018 to December 6, 2018. The project will be set up at Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station located in Chandrapur district in the state of Maharashtra.
According to media sources, MAHAGENCO owns vast areas of abandoned ash bunds that are used to dump ash from thermal projects. The generation company plans to utilise this land to develop up to 500 MW of grid-connected solar projects.
The scope of work for the developer includes:
- Construction of solar project on the available land
- Operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of 25 years
- Evacuation and transmission of power up to nearest substation

- Concept note
- Feasibility report
- Financial model
- Share (in percentage)
