Algeria floats tender for 150 MW of solar projects

Algeria’s Regulatory Commission for Electricity and Gas has issued a tender for the construction, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of several solar projects with a combined capacity of 150 MW. According to the tender document, around 50 MW of capacity will be set up in Ghardaïa, 50 MW in Biskra, 30 MW in Ouargla and the remaining 20 MW in El Oued. These projects will be developed under the build-own-operate model and PPAs will be signed for a period of 20 years. The bidders need to provide a bank guarantee of $0.15 million per project and the last date for the submission of technical and financial bids is February 19, 2019.
