KREDL has awarded a contract to Asian Fab Tec for the development of 100 MW of grid-connected solar PV projects across five talukas in Karnataka. The awarded capacity is part of the recently issued tender for 200 MW solar PV capacity in 10 talukas in the state.
Asian Fab Tec won the bid to develop 20 MW of solar projects in each of the five districts by quoting the lowest tariff of Rs 2.89 per kWh for each taluk. The company will develop these projects in Lakshmeshwar, Savanur, Haveri, Kushtagi, and Hanur taluks of the state. The power will be sold exclusively to Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) for a period of 25-year.
The taluk-wise tender was issued by KREDL in August 2018, to avoid the land procurement challenges faced by large-scale solar projects in the country.
