SECI auctions 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects under Tranche V

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the auction result for 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power capacity (Tranche V). Torrent Power Limited and Adani Green Energy Limited have won the bids to develop 115 MW and 300 MW of capacities respectively by quoting the lowest tariff (L1) of Rs 2.76 per kWh. Alfanar Company and SITAC Kabini Renewables Private Limited have won 300 MW each, while Ecoren Energy India Private Limited has won 175 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 2.77 per kWh. ReNew Wind Energy Private Limited had submitted a bid for 300 MW of capacity, but has won the rights to develop only 10 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 2.77 per kWh. The scope of work also involves setting up the transmission network up to the delivery point. The projects will be developed on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis and the successful bidders will enter into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SECI for a period of 25 years.
