Himachal Pradesh government invites applications for 20 MW of solar projects

The Himachal Pradesh government has invited apllications for the development of solar power projects with a combined capacity of 20 MW across the state. The government will award the project to 40-80 applicants and the capacity of a single project will be 250-500 kW. The estimated land and capital requirement for setting up a 1 MW solar project is around 20-25 bighas and Rs 40 million respectively. The power produced from these solar projects will be purchased by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited. Further, the applicants will have to develop the project either on their own land or on leased land. However, the project will go ahead only when the evacuation of power is ensured through the 11 kV and 22 kV transmission lines.
