BBOXX, an off-grid clean energy solutions provider in Africa, and General Electric (GE) have launched a partnership to provide energy access for small businesses and schools in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. The partnership between the two companies is aimed at improving energy access to customers by providing small solar home systems of 50 W in rural communities. In addition, businesses in urban areas with higher energy demands will receive systems of 0.5 kW-5 kW, and beyond. As part of the endeavour, BBOXX has already installed GE’s hybrid distributed power system in Kivu International School that can connect up to 10 customers. BBOXX has provided affordable solar power to about 750,000 people living in off-grid communities in Africa and Asia.
