UPNEDA invites bids for 550 MW of solar PV projects

Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has invited RfP bids for an aggregate of 550 MW capacity. These bids have been invited on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) for 500 MW and 50 MW capacities respectively.

As per the tender document, a single bidder can bid for a minimum of 5 MW and maximum 550 MW capacity. Moreover, the bid capacity should be in multiples of 5 MW. For all projects, an upper tariff ceiling of Rs 3.10 per kWh has been set. The successful bidders will sign PPAs for a period of 25 years with a single fixed tariff.

Reportedly, the projects set up in the Bundelkhand and Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh can benefit from a special provision under the state’s solar energy policy, 2017. As per the solar policy, projects set up in these two regions can avail subsidy based on per kilometre length of the transmission lines. The last date of bid submission is November 14, 2018.
