NTPC invites bids for 70 MW floating solar PV project at Kayamkulam

NTPC Limited has invited bids for the development of 70 MW capacity floating solar PV project at Kayamkulam, Kerala. The project will be set up at the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Project.

To qualify for the bidding, interested developers have to meet the minimum technical and financial requirements set by NTPC Limited:

  • The interested bidders should have designed, supplied, installed and commissioned solar power projects of cumulative capacity of 40 MW or more, of which at least one plant should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity.
  • The average annual turnover of the bidders should not be less than Rs 2,506 million during the three financial years preceding the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

The solar PV cells and modules for this project can be sourced from anywhere in the world. The scope of work includes design, engineering,  manufacturing,  supply,  packing  and  forwarding, transportation,  unloading,  storage,  installation  and  commissioning  of  the grid-connected plant. Moreover, the successful bidder will be responsible for providing O&M services for the plant and transmission system for a period of three years from the date of successful completion of the trial run.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled to be held on November 1, 2018 and the bid submission deadline has been set as November 15, 2018.
