The Odisha government has approved NHPC Limited’s plan for setting up a 40 MW solar power project at Ganjam district in the state. The project will be developed on approximately 180 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 1.96 billion.
The Odisha government also plans to develop a solar park with a capacity of 1,000 MW. But due to land unavailability, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has allowed the state to develop a truncated solar park of 400 MW capacity under the Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects.
