SECI likely to revise capacity of 2,500 MW ISTS-Connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is planning to revise the capacity of 2,500 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project tender (Tranche I) from 2,500 MW to 1,200 MW.

The plan to reduce the tender capacity is being considered because of cancellation of wind and solar auctions in the last two months as developers faced evacuation-related issues and the difference in tariffs of first and second bidder was felt to be too wide. SECI is also planning to amend the standard bidding document for the project and has requested MNRE to introduce a separate bidding guideline for hybrid wind-solar power projects.

SECI is the nodal agency for the project and will sign the PPA with the hybrid project developers for a period of 25 years. The projects are will be implemented on built, own and operate (BOO) basis.
