The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Authority (TEDA) invited bids for development of rooftop solar PV projects worth total capacity of 50 MW. The size of the project can range from 1 kW to 500 kW and can be set up on government buildings across the state. These rooftop installations will be provided net-metering facility through the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO).
The scope of work involves design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar projects. It also includes operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plant for a period up to 25 years. TEDA has fixed the upper tariff ceiling for the bids at Rs 4.79 per kWh.
To be eligible for bidding, a bidder must have installed a cumulative total solar PV capacity of at least 50 MW in the country between the financial years 2014-15 and 2018-19. The bidders should also have O&M experience of at least 10 MW of solar capacity in India. TEDA has specified that the solar PV modules will have to be manufactured in India and the remaining system components can be procured from any source.
The selected bidders will have to furnish an interest free earnest money deposit amounting to Rs 25 million for the cumulative capacity of 50 MWp. The last date for bid submission is September 24, 2018.
