SECI cancels Mahoba Solar’s (Adani) 300 MW project

SECI has annulled capacity worth 300 MW won by Adani’s subsidiary Mahoba Solar (UP) in the 3 GW tender. While SECI has confirmed the auction cancellation, it is yet to issue an official notification.

Mahoba Solar (UP) had quoted a tariff of Rs 3.48 per kWh to develop 250 MW of projects. This single tariff had been quoted by the company for project in planned in all its locations. However, according to SECI the tariff was felt to be much higher that seen in the other recent tenders and thus the awarded capacity had to be cancelled.

According to the Mercom India Solar Project Tracker, after this annulment Adani has approximately 1,938 MW of solar projects in operation and nearly 340 MW of capacity is in various stages of development.
