KREDL invites RfP bids for 150 MW capacity at Pavagada solar park

The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has issued a tender for the development of 150 MW of grid connected solar power capacity at Pavagada solar park, located in Tumkur district of Karnataka.

The PV projects will be developed in three block of 50 MW capacity each, under build own operate basis. The solar plants will be set up on a pre-identified land parcel inside the Pavagada solar park and will be connected to Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation Limited substations. KREDL has set Rs 2.93 per kWh as the upper tariff ceiling for this tender. The successful developers will sign a 25 year PPA with the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited. As per tender guidelines, the successful developers will have to complete project commissioning within a 12 month time-frame.

In April 2018, KREDL had retendered 650 MW of grid-connected solar projects to be developed at the Pavagada solar park. Of this total capacity, KREDL had awarded only 500 MW of solar projects to Fortum Corporation and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). The remaining 150 MW of the remaining capacity has now been tendered.
